Greetings from GOOD SHEPHERD!
Rejoice, the Light has come! In this season of Epiphany God reveals Himself to us anew in the ministry of Jesus our Lord. "No one has ever seen God It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father‘s heart, who has made him known." (John 1: 18) Join us throughout this sacred season as we worship God in the name of Him who comes to make known His gracious love for us all, Jesus Christ our Lord!

Sunday, January 18- The Second Sunday after Epiphany: All the baptized have a calling in God’s world. God calls not just the clergy but also the youngest child, like Samuel. The story of the calling of Nathanael plays with the idea of place. Nathanael initally dismisses Jesus because he comes from Nazareth. But there we come from isn’t important; it’s where- or rather whom- we come to. Jesus refers to the story of the vision of Jacob, who called the place of his vision "the house of God, and... the gate of heaven" (Genesis 28: 17).
Jesus says he himself is the place where Nathanael will meet God. The readings for this Sunday are: 1L- 1 Samuel 3: 10-20; Psalm 139; 2L- 1 Corinthians 6:
12-20; G- John 1: 43-51.

Greetings from GOOD SHEPHERD!

is God the only Son, who is close to the Father‘s heart, who has made him
known." (John 1: 18) Join us throughout this sacred season as we worship

Jesus
Christ our Lord!

Sunday, January 11- The Baptism of Our Lord: Our re-creation in baptism is
an image of the Genesis creation, where the Spirit/wind moved over the waters.
Both Mark’s gospel and the story in Acts make clear that it is the Spirit’s
movement that distinguishes Jesus’ baptism from John’s. The Spirit has come
upon us as upon Jesus and the Ephesians, calling us God’s beloved children
and setting us on Jesus’ mission to re-create the world in the image of God’s

vision of justice and peace. The readings for this Sunday are: 1L- Genesis 1:
1-8; Psalm 29; 2L- Acts 19: 1-7; G- Mark 1: 4-11.
